This is plain nuts frankly.

I recently advertised 25m3 of pine for 30euros per cord (3m3)

It was fresh felled and in unsplit rounds.

Still, a bargain.

I had loads of enquiries but most along the lines of 'Got any oak for 30euros?'

When the felling commenced not a single person turned up for the wood.

I had 25m3 of wood sat on my clients lawn.

I called back many of the enquirers who gave me various excuses such as 'oh I heard pine is poisonous when burnt or ruins your chimney or my local tree surgeon (ex-pat) advises never burn pine'

Good grief, When I give it away no-one wants it when I sell it I get a better response but also no takers.

In Jan I will have another 25-30m3 to get rid of and its all going to the tip.

Even the locals are afraid of burning it as it goes against tradition.

Oak only here.

I would like to swear but forum rules to be respected.

Still, here's one I made up earlier ****** ***** ***** **** ***!!!!!

Hi Ty,

If you can get it in 2mtre sections then you might get a sawmill to take it for a drink.

I would be interested to know how many English log suppliers regularly sell Pine to their clients and how much they charge.

Currently trying to convert some of my customers over to pine.

Have 3 people now quite happy to pay £20 for a barrow bag of dry seasoned pine logs. This equates to £100 per cubic metre

80% of what i sell is softwood (spruce and lodgepole). north of the border it is quite popular.

Ty, you need to rebrand this wood. call it something like "polar heat logs" and people will buy it.

alternatively buy an alaskan mill and turn it into oversize beams or railway sleepers it will defo sell then.
