Yes I know Pugwash he is a sound bloke, used to have a Range Rover but defected to the dark side and bought a Landbruiser:sneaky2:.

I spoke with him the other day, he will be up at my place next week collecting some wood for his wood burner, guess once he has cut and split it all he will be down to 17 stone:001_smile:

I remember him saying his bro was a wood butcher:thumbup:

Yes, he's terribly complimentary:laugh1:

Not read the whole thread yet,but I have had 5 or six landies over the years,& will not be working any other truck, not because the others are a lesser vehicle, but the landy does it with consumate ease & style,is easy to fix & reasonable on parts costs.

Show me another 3.5 ton tip truck with 4wd that can compete,& still look good after its been bashed about a bit with people climbing all over it & having lunch on the bonnet!

post script; some folk just are plain too big for bonnet brunch admittedly..:laugh1:

Earlier this year we had job felling the trees on an island, all the woodchip and timber could stay but of course how do you get a chipper across the water to the island, if you have a Defender then its possible.

You need to make sure the fuel tank is waterproofed and before anyone mentions it, all the fish had been taken out.

I have had lots of defenders and very suitable for the job. But without much effort they could be so much better. Mine put me in mind of 4x4 Marina from the 70's . I run a 53 plate disco van which has been superb. But I cant imagine changing the hilux tipper for another defender unles we need to carry alot more weight over seriously bad terrain. I run an amazon for family transport and back up in business, I like the range rover but there is no way I could put up with the dire reliability.
