If you want to climb the normal way you just disconnect the tether and let the rope wrench flap about on top of your hitch. Or you get the quick release pin.

big shot would be better than me spending all boring trying to get a throw line in the tree, what about ascending with spikes then? nd why it there a lack of pictures on here lol, 2012.................year of the rope wrench?

one more thing, on removals i don't lie the idea of when I'm rigging a limb down it smacking into my rope which is anchored to the base of the tree, do i just anchor it in the top to stop this?

Ascending on spikes no different. Dismantles no different, more often than not it's secured close to the base and not or ideally should not be redirected out to the drip line if you can avoid it.

Do you mean ascend with spikes on or ascend whilst spiking the tree? As been said lanyard over shoulder, use a pantin no problem.
