When I got the resin I was thinking Damion hurst sharks and all that but it's 30 quid for 750ml!!don't think I'll use it again!

Looks awesome Matty French polishing is on of the hardest finishes todo IMO, It's all down to the prep work you do and the grain on every bit of wood creates a new challenge.

Cheers Ian that's a bit clearer than the instructions on the bottle! Guess ill be going back over with some wire wool!! Turns out Rob D has some resin that he's importing that does not take days to go off As well , sounds like I should of used that!!! All a learning curve !!

That has the 'wow' factor and no wonder all people want to buy from you is coffee tables! How long does it 'normally' take you to do create a table like that?

Good question!!! I just end up making them for close friends so I would not know what they are worth I'm guessing you could do one in a day.

 

most of the time is spent trying to plane and sand them for a good finish... Find it pretty good fun but I'm no carpenter, although a mate that is wants to do a load for shows next year and sell them @ £300-£400 a go but I get sentimental about interesting bits of wood and don't want to get rid of them!! That's pretty sad I know but I want to take him up clear out my shed a bit of timber but will probably not want to part with the interesting bits,and we will end up making nothing interesting !
