I'm tempted to try the Arbortec breathdry hi viz smock but I can't quite bring myself to cough up the £120 for one until I've read a reliable review from someone who has worked a soaking wet week in it. Looks like a really well thought out jacket though if it works. Cheaper than wrecking a really good hardshell from Arc'Teryx too, probably the only truly waterproof jacket you'll ever find.

Well, I've just bought a subby one of these Arbortec smocks. It is well finished, heavy yet supple 3 ply fabric with water resistant zips, underarm pit zips and looks far too good to use climbing. If it does what is says on the box then I'll treat myself to a wicked Lime Green one.

I have the lime green 1 it’s great for climbing in, I had it on for a wet week before Xmas and it really is brilliant!

The jackets a loose fit on the body but well fitted on cuffs etc so layering can be achieved.

Next test is to see if it holds its brilliant waterproof properties after a wash.

Ill report back when I’ve been brave enough to wash it.

Ive had the stihl raintec jacket for 2 years and its still goin strong...

Id say its more than decent for the price

Weak main zip, sent it back to H'bros. Exchanged it for 'Kieu' is it?

Zip went again but unlike the Stihl the zip can easily be replaced with a tougher one.

What is the sizing like on the Arbortec? It is usually a total waste of time looking at the sizing guides!

I would go one size up ... I ended up with an XL and I usually wear a medium as it was all gustharts had in stock and no more until June ... surprisingly it does not look too ridiculous , also the lads I spoke to wearing them said definitely go a size up as they feel like they where designed for midgets.
