All the 2 stroke engines I have looked at have a little end float in the crank.

Some have quite an alarming amount when they leave the factory.

I agree that radial play should be very minimal as the bearings are a close fit to the crank journals.

Yes theres nothing wrong with endfloat play on the crank ive had a few 200 like this and they were fine

No room for thrust washers in a 2st engine

The MS200 has lots of end float on the crank due to the type of crank shaft bearings. The rollers actually rotate on the crank itself, a little like needle bearings so nothing to stop the float on the crank.

Larger saws use ball races where the outer race is held by the crankcase and the inner is pushed on to the crank shaft so there will be close to zero end float on this type of design. If you have float, the bearings are worn!

Corsa done. Leaking at clutch servo seal.

Ms200t, leaking crank seals.

Ms200t, eaten the spark plug.

Ms200t, front lower av mount.

Ms260, light seize, new piston on the way.

Mount field Briggs and Stratton mower, hard to pull over if not at all, blade on wrong and catching the deck.

And made a start on the excavator, tracks off on one side.

Hello!

Does a 036 piston/cylinder fit an 034 with no other changes?

ie; is it a simple, straight swap?

Same crank number, should do!

Excavator tracks done. Always go home after that sort of work broken and bruised....

Ms260 has scoring on exhaust side of piston so new piston being ordered.

And then it was an early finish and down the lifeboat for a tea break.

Just put my 200T back together after a wee service.

New Meteor piston, manifold, air filter and a Sugi-Hara super light!! Throughly cleaned out the saw and de-coked the exhaust.

Can't wait to try it out on a couple of conies tomorrow.
