Ok. So looked throught interweb thingy and can't find any of the parts for the strimmer. It's not the plastic part of the head but the shaft part.

Been looking at a few other ones but they don't have the same shaft bit. The stihl ones are square but this one is multiple splines.

This could be a dead end. Unless I can strip the shaft out and transfer it to a stihl one....

Hi Rich, I may be able to sort out a gearbox for you for a few beer vouchers, think I may have one that is OK in the collection.

Recently had the recoil spring come out of the MS341 I was porting, Oh dear I thought - Rich had a real problem with his Stiga saw with its recoil.

Lets just say I was listening to Absolute 80s and it took a massive three verses of Howard Jonses New Song to get it back in and working:001_tt2::001_tt2::001_tt2::lol:

Been on another MS200T - no high revs, US cleaner, bit of a tweak and a going over and all is looking lots better:thumbup:

Firstly hahah blooming haha on the the recoil spring. And I'm sure that its not the early 80s anymore bud so that new song is a bit old now :lol::001_tt2:

Secondly it wasn't a saw it was a hedgcutter.... (And the missis says I don't listen to her):lol:

I have no problems in doing chainsaws. I might just get the hedgcutter off the bloke and send the spring up to you just out of spite. :001_tt2::001_tt2::001_tt2::lol:

And pm me over the beer tokens bud. I'm sure I can sort something out for you.:thumbup:

Before we get intimate, can you count the number of splines the gearbox has, what largest size drill fits down the splined union and the diameter of the tube it fits, if that all looks good then I will bung a few photos up so you can check it out - saves any mistakes being made:thumbup:

Oh Absolute 80s or a bit of heavy rock powers my repair shop:thumbup::thumbup:

I will send some moisturising cream for your dainty hands with the strimmer box:001_tt2:

Well, there's an MS230 that doesn't want to behave all the time but it's nearly redundant these days so no worries. Other than that the only thing coming close to broken is my neck but that's another story...:001_smile:

A 046 with 460 tank in a box and grocery sack dropped off.

One stihl dealer had it for 2 weeks and gave a estimate of $700 to fix. Another small engine shop had it a month and was close to the same.

So I got a call and the guy drove a hour one way to have me go through his new to him saw. (bought not running from tree service)

I had it a hour figured out why it stopped running and scored 1/4" area in the process. I ordered $100 in parts (including a new DP muffler set up) and that will fix it up. Little more labor and she should be done next week when parts arrive.
