What's on your bench today?

Wilko.

From memory I ordered a couple of carbs from L&S as they were a got price. One for the saw and the other for you to cover your labour. It would have been Zama or Walbro for sure, I'll check.

I'll do the above and if no good I'll bring it to you. To be honest nowadays I'd rather pay you and be sure of a good result than try myself and always be a bit uncertain.

It's only really an issue when I'm climbing and have the saw idling for a minute or so between cuts.

Yes I remember now, no need to check, that is a good step forward. Do the plug and lets go from there. Can't be too much with the compression that saw has:thumbup:

The compression is part of the problem! Any normal saw wouldn't be too bad to keep restarting on spikes!

Working at this, a Homelite Super XL Automatic, starts, runs but dies in the cut. New carb service kit to be fitted but there are a few scores on the piston when viewed through the exhaust port so could be down on compression.

Aye seems to be all there including a Homelite bar, giving it a good clean before I start to service the carb, need to make a gasket to fit between the head and reed block as it isn't part of the carb service kit. It's a compact wee saw given the engine capacity.
