Noisy Eucalyptus

Bit strange this one...

 

I'd just finished reducing a euc earlier on when the client came back. When we were having a chat she told me that "You can hear the water going up the trunk." I though aye right, but had a listen and there was definitely a rushing sound like water coming from the trunk.

 

When I first priced the job, she did say that there was a high water table where she lived and that was one of the reasons she likes the tree so much.

 

What's that all about?

ah ha i think she's been listening to the tree chappy on radio 2 last week about listening to the noises the tree's make!!! not sure if i can quite believe it is possible actually!

I'll bet you any amount of cash you can think of that there was the sound of rushing water coming from that tree. Personally, I reckon there must be a water source running around the root plate.

Sounds like a water pipe thats got kinkid bu the roots,or is leaking,that could do it.

I cannot believe that water could be rushing up the stem fast enough to make a sound unless it is pissing out of the top of the tree.

I reckon underground course/pipe as well. Is it loud enough to capture on vid?

if you get a screw driver touch it on a water pipe while the water is running and listen to the screw driver you can hear water running through the screw driver
