Feedback...APF

As a few of you may know now, I'm involved in doing show write-ups for a certain magazine, so if you have any comments on the APF either post them here, or if they are close to the bone and you wish to remain anonymous, pm them to me. I think feedback from the grass-roots level is important so the organisers can work to improve things for all of us, thanks a lot, oh and try to keep this on track, and sensible.

Ok Andy, short and sweet.

 

Overall a very good show, obviously some variations from one site to another over the years.

 

BUT, the main thing that concerns me is, after all the revenue the show receives from exhibitors, in my opinion the £15/head for visitors is pure extortion.

Couldnt agree more, The site was good the day was sunny but £15 stuck in my throat more tan the crappy burgers they sell there

Food was a concern. Would have liked to actually have proper food and not the sick in a bun that was for sale. You are what you eat. I ate beer.

£15 a head is a lot when you consider that the public had free access upto wednesday and from saturday evening onwards.

 

Onsite food was not varied enough and a tad pricey.

 

I did not see many litter bins and the rubbish we generated on thursday is still there with all the rest.

 

Staff generally helpful, polite and informative.

 

Site and layout good apart from a bit of mud in one or two areas.

 

Forest section a bit too spread out with gaps between exhibitors, otherwise good.

 

What was the facilities for campers like?

 

Right kind of visitors attending all three days.

If it's any consolation exhibitors had to pay for tickets as well !

Over all it greatly exceeded my expectations.I agree the entrance fee was steep,perhaps a set fee per car would be more agreable.

 

Generally I was very impressed by the standard of presentation of the vendors stands,full credit to those who exibited.

 

Wish I had more time there,as well as a more generous baggage allowance as I ad to fly back to Norway the next day.

I think the bad points have already been spelled out in the other thread, so I won't add to that.

1 thing I liked at this show, which wasn't so good at ragley, was the layout of the forest demo section, it was a nice walk round, nicely laid out...you could spend a couple of hours in there no problem at all. Top marks to whoever was involved in setting that up...I spied a certain aeration guru had a great spot.

First APF so didn't really know what to expect. Fantastic day out. Some great deals to be had, just a bit steep at £15 to get in. Other than that, No grumbles from me.....

Over all very good, well laid out site.Thought it would not be as good as Ragley 2006 but was proved wrong.

As for the entrance fee it was steep but was worth it to look at all that kit and view the trade stands etc.Hope the APF returns to Cannock Chase in the near future.
