London riots!

It seems insane to me that a qualified teacher would put their career in jeopardy by looting :( its got to the point where you have to be wary just providing constructive feedback to learners without fear of reprisals due to being misquoted or being misunderstood, a point brought up by many on this thread ?

It was said on the radio by a senior police officer that the police are wary of physical contact as they would be more likely to be accused of excessive force than the looters, and more likely to lose their jobs. Damned if they do, damned if they dont!

Not surprised in the least.

Already been on the news that some are reporting police brutality and excessive force! BTW that's a thumbs down to the whinging human rights activist people not the police who do a difficult job.

Tough luck as far as I'm concerned, don't throw petrol bombs then complain your getting a kicking.

Just seen some of the scum being interviewed, I think a compulsory IQ test should be put in place, those with less intelligence than a slug should loose their freedom to breed and speak.

I think thats a pretty poor excuse they are using.

The copper who is being charged with manslaughter hit a guy on his way home from work with a baton and then pushed him over, his hands were in his pockets at the time. This was the fifth incident of this sort he had been involved in that day. IMV he is a thug in a uniform.

Another copper brayed a woman who was screaming at him, he was exonerated. So I think its not one sided and the police are given the benefit of the doubt when its needed.

As the police keep saying every thing is being filmed, so the police are safe to behave appropriately.

There is no excuse for the police just standing by and watching!!!

Our youngen reckons it's all over his Facebook that some football hooligans have taken to the streets and are fighting the looters! Not sure how true it is

Not sure about football hooligans but a load of guys in Eltham made their presence felt last night. Alot of them are Millwall.
