cheers for the replies....was a fun climb...campers could have been moved, but there on 'holiday' so was too much effort. i did have a word with the boss when we fell the stem and it shattered into many pieces! But at least it made it was to log up and move around!!

You lot are mental.

 

Would you really have climbed that bag of pap knowing the extent of the decay when you could have moved the targets?

 

The thing was, it was climbed without knowing the extent of the decay.

 

 

Out of interest, does anyone know of a case where a tree failed at the base whilst being climbed? Not root plate, I know that's happened.
