Did some welding on my transit today. disconnected the battery reconnected it after guess what...radio wants keycode and i havent got it! rang fords who want £20 plus vat to give me the code!

on a serious note it does make you feel sick that they can charge so much for doing nothing

Plead your case to the service manager. explain that it was an honest mistake, they may help you out afterall.

Mrs oldwoodcutters corsa was recalled for somthing or other,and in so doing the radio code was lost.Tried to get them to pay for it but they woudnt have it.Cost me £25.

I recons marks right.... £20 though ??? Don't really see that's a problem, I don't know how they get the data to give you the code but this thread kind of reminds me of people asking for quotes on tree work, falling off there chair with no consideration to the training equipment and insurance of running a buisness..... So £20 ,probably do that most nights in the pub and my van radio probably gives me more pleasure.

They check the chassis number and get the code from the manufacturer. Most manuals have the code in it.
