normally operate as a 3 man team, we regularly subbie to a firm in ledbury which can up that to 2x 5 man teams, depending on the job...

trust jobs will often see us use 2 4 man teams..or 1 large team, maybe a couple of climbers and a ground crew with 2 chipper units..

when i was in northern queensland, the rule seemed to be the more the merrier. always a minumum of two groundies for small knock around work, the work was nearly always removals so for the day jobs i normally had 5-7 groundies. geez i worked hard. obviously there were times where i couldn't work fast enough, to keep em busy. it was like an army of ants below you. pushing you to take bigger pieces all the time. good fun

Usually on rigging jobs, 1x climber and 2x groundies. One of the groundies in charge of the rigging and clearing the "hole" the other clearing away to the chipper. IMO important to have the rigging groundie designated, nothing worse than them falling over each other to grab the ropes, drag the stuff away. Keeps it all nice and fluid.
