Axe throwing results

Thanks everyone who came and had a go on our very first attempt at an axe throwing competition.

We were delighted with how popular the event proved and managed to raise a fantastic £427. Along with the £60 raised through Les's tug of war, the total raised for The Childrens Trust was £487.

The competition saw approximately 150 entrants over the 2 days with a 1st and 2nd prize going for grabs each day.

The winners scores out of a maximum of 25 points were pretty impressive, with the highest score of the competition being made on the second day by our very own Rich Rule.

The results over the 2 says were as follows.

Day 1:

1st Prize: Richard Ollie with 20 points

2nd Prize: Dean Lofthouse with 19 points

Day 2:

1st Prize: Rich Rule with 21 points

2nd Prize: Andy(Kingswood) with 19 points

Many thanks to Workware who provided 4 Helko axes for the prizes

Also thanks to Anna from The Childrens Trust and Andy Collins for their assistance over the 2 days.

An extra special thank you to Mick Stockbridge and Gollum for their hard work sourcing the huge Oak rings without which the competition wouldnt have been possible, and of course to Kingswood training and Justin for all their help(both physical and financial) making this possible.

I would have been in with a shout, i got 21 at the axe throwing at woodfest. The prize there was the glory of going on the chalk board. You are spoiling them by offering prizes !

P.S. well done winners

Nice one steve. Excellent fun and a bit of friendly/family rivalry can increase the competition. I know my old man enjoyed it! Well done to everyone for organising the event and to the money raised. First time I have chucked and axe but definitely not the last.

Gotta get me one of the shiny sharp things.

Nice one Rich. What you going for, Oschenkopf or Gransfors?

It was the best 2 days at a show I've had lately, the enthusiasm and competitiveness between people was a joy to encourage! Well done to everyone, and thanks for supporting us and the Childrens Trust with this. Congratulations to the winners, and runners-up. Roll on the next event
