I'm not offering medical advice here but who told you to bed it? Modern thinking with sore backs is to maintain gentle movement.

Not saying it's wrong as I don't know the details but bedrest is unusual treatment these days.

All the best with it whatever from a fellow sufferer.

Same here

Get down to your local osteopath asap.

He will help

Bed rest is not advised usually these days

Quite right: make a call, explain that you can barely move and they'll fit you in today. Should cost ~£35, for which you'll be able to walk upright home again.

All assuming, that is, that it's just muscles that need attention - probably is.

Good luck.

I wouldn't bother with an osteo. My mum had a bad back for best part of a year and after numerous expensive osteopath visits, she went and got Bowen treatment, and was back to normal within 2 weeks! Look that up if you can!

Ive tried all the different things to fix my back and find physio's are the best. Wouldn't rest it too much mate as I find my back is worst when I have time off work and have a lie in etc. Obviously if your struggling to put your socks on you need rest but keep your self gently active:) if it's lower back I find a rolled up towel behind my lower back while sitting upright/driving helps loads

For a little relief, if its lower back, lie on your side with a pillow between your knees, this will ease the pressure,I go to an osteopath when my back goes properly, otherwise it's physio, stretching, less climbing and copious amounts of beer.

i go to an osteo regularely so my back doesnt go pop. I wouldnt go to bed, keep it moving, walking with poles, swimming are all good. If is muscular take some inflamitries and get some ice onto it.

Once you are on the mend get yourself to the gym and train for your job, if you do not you will always have injuries, especially your back.

Get well soon

I would say bed rest is probably the worst thing you can do for it! i always feel worse after been in bed for too long. Try lying on a flat surface with your legs up on a chair(hips and knees at 90 degree angles), thats good for some quick relief but obviously not a cure. Never lay on your belly cos that really does make it worse. Most of all if i was you i would go get a second opinion cos i have never heard anyone being told to lay in bed resting for a bad back.
