More shrubs than trees, but can anyone help?

Recommended Posts

Hi All

I'm trying to ID these 2 trees/shrubs.

The first one has very glossy leaves, bit like a Holly but smooth.

The second has leaves very similar to a Rowan but it is growing as a very dense low shrub rather than a tree, like a rowan that had been coppiced.

Any help appreciated.

:confused1:

Id hazard a guess:sneaky2:, first one is Euonymus fourtuneii and the second Lonicera pileta,

If it's a wisteria shouldn't it be showing more signs of twisting and climbing that time of year?

There are pot wisterias available that don't do the twining thing to the same extent as most. But that's a strange form for a wisteria isn't it: I wonder if a large one's been cut right down there and what we see is stump regrowth.
