think its about £170 here at the moment i'll find out in the morn when i see grandad :001_smile:

yeah man that the sort of thing! it was semi set up there, he had concreted it down and made the saw pit out of a big steel water tank, shame he never finished it

Should of paid scrap value to him and set it up yourself. They can be a pain in the backside though. Our one is electric on 3phase and since it lives in a barn we have issues with the electrics.

that looks similar to one I nearly bought many years ago , it had its own rail tracks for the log carriage and was used for cutting track sleepers

If I remember rightly we decided there was just too much of it to move a fair distance, but a lovely bit of kit.

I am in the Outer Hebrides, only a short ferry journey from Skye. We have two trucks with very low hours and good tyres. I could get pictures sent to you if you are interested.

I just phoned my brother to check and he thinks the price of scrap from the islands is now up around £230 a ton. The scrappy pays to take it away too.

Sacrilege! Some things have more intrinsic value or historic value than scrap. Is the crane going too?

I always quote double scrap value price when it comes to any steam engine plant and machinery or any Ferguson tools and implements. Does not always work and can take a very long time persuading people to part with historic pieces.
