Has gone quiet again up here as well. Only doing about a load a day. I am hoping the xmas rush

The priority for people at the moment I think is getting through christmas without loading up the credit card too much. The priority in January will be keeping warm. The kindling side will be quiet because people selling logs are sitting on thousands of pounds worth of cord wood.

I think the availability of all of the wind blown stuff around at the moment has knackered it up here. It's only going to get worse as well, with the current winds.

I was speaking to a guy from one of the tree companies that is doing call outs for the council and he said that their yard is chocka with cord at the moment. They are doing 1.5 cube of split and seasoned (trying to clear space for the freshly 'felled' stuff) hardwood for £70 delivered

We've been rammed since April or so when I setup. Got a guy on doing deliveries now and doing some good money. Get your local stove shop onside. We're installing 12 stoves a week or so and all of these customer want wood. We still fit around 6 a week in summer and they all want wood. A decent local stove shop should be similar.

I have several stove shops that recommend me, and I cant believe after 3years there is no let up in the number of new customers who have had a stove fitted.

Also delivered my 3rd load this week to people who have had a green load of conifer dropped off claiming to be seasoned for a new stove, make sure new stove owners have sourced some good dry logs, or know where they can get some, round here a lot of people end up using the kiln dried stuff or compressed sawdust logs as they have given up trying to source dry wood, it is just not available in the quantities needed.

We give a card out with every stove install and the work is piling in.

 

Stove customers are crying out for decent wood. Give your local stove shop some free wood from time to time but make sure it's good and dry. At the end of the day the owner of the stove shop doesn't want customer moaning about blackened glass and blocked flues. If your wood is good they'll recommend you as its good for them!

have 14 loads booked for sat... as well as 2 or 3 we do each day for those that arent in at weekend.... got busy with tree work and timber haulage this week so log pile isnt as big as it should be... lot overtime for my ladds comin up i think
