have almost run out,,,and started splitting next yrs already,,,,mad,,but good,,,

Likewise; hardwood nearly all gone and what's left is pre-ordered. Masses of softwood left tho but no-one will buy it!

I would say customers still aren't asking the right questions? The first question should be have you got any seasoned but it never is. I'm seeing a lot of fresh stuff being delivered which can only be a disappointment to most people.

I'm always worrying is it ready will it burn prehaps i need to be more heartless or business minded!

Totally. One bloke said "for a £fiver less he can get green wood - why charge more simply because it's dry?!!!" Little Britain or what.

As above. Lots seem to get away with selling soaking wet logs. Mine are (were) all around 19/20% mc this year and I still worry!

Enquiry after enquiry from the Firewood directory:thumbup1:

The opposite; not one.

For the last two years i have kept the softwood back until after xmas and shifted the lot. It is well seasoned by then and the new customers are looking for something dry as were sold wet hardwood in the week leading up to xmas!

This year doesn't look any different just waiting for the heating oil price to spike and we'll be away!

I found this as well, last year new customers bought dry softwood off me as they had been sold wet hard wood and i had run out of dry hardwood, and now this year those same people have been the first ones to order to make sure they get some dry hardwood this year.
