People cannot retire and live as long as the worked and get an income from a pot into which they have paid very little. Its simple economics.

When the retirement age of 65 first came in the average man lived to 65 and 8 months, so paying people for 8 months was not a problem, paying people for 35 years is.

Where do these people think the money is going to come from?????????????????????

All the kids they train not to get jobs. :001_rolleyes:

Very valid point Dave.

The whole pension system is in meltdown at the minute.

What about someone who has paid in for 45 years and is now being told they will get buttons though? It is unfair from every way you look at it.

I don't have any answers I'm afraid.

I'm going to work until I'm about 50 then start up a combined arb/porn website that will see me living like a pig in shite until I die of drug and alcohol related issues (I'm guessing around 52).

I don't need to be patronised by someone with as little intellect as yourself, who starts a thread without thinking about what sort of debate they are starting, has the penny dropped?
