On an 80' conifer, I would climb to the required height, fell the top out in one, tidy up with a final topping cut, and come down for a cup of tea!

What if its coming down to 20' and in a very small garden ?

An 80ft tree and you can't find anywhere to tie in? I'd feel naked at suck heights without a harness and a body strop, however the cutting is realistic, with a liberal application of silky work for me

An 80ft LONG hedge, not high.

The hedge was 18ft ish

I'd tip the chipper on it's nose, turn the revs up to full blast and fell it straight into the chipper opening, at the same time as patting my head and rubbing my tummy.
