Having just been recruited in to the 'tree world having been in the army almost 31 years I wondered how many others out there were of a similar background whether TA or regular forces. I bet you a dollar that there is a network of ex-military that probably know each other but don't actually know they are on here. So by way of example;

Ex WO1 (ASM) Marco Bartolini

REME

This is where Steve jumps in and starts a poll and offering us a t-shirt or something similar! :lol: If we have a large following I'll get Steve (I am no techie mate :001_tt2:) to add a members thingy where we can chat amongst ourselves - pull up a sandbag and tell a few yarns :thumbup1:

I probably should have been. Born at military hospital in Germany, barracks life till I was 13.

Dad Army, older brother Navy, Me at Naval school for secondary ed, me at recruiting office in the strand. Me saying no to the old man and the future career being mapped out in front of me.

It didn't turn out to be the end of the world (though Staff Sargeant Humphries would of thought so at the time), I ended up doing this from 16 till now. Not been soooo bad :001_smile:

Oh what could have been :001_rolleyes:

now.

To be honest I am still in with 6 days left but I consider myself an ex now I have taken the leap of faith!!

Head down trooper! If you need any advice give me a shout. I did all this on the back of resettlement. You'll be saving a bit of shrapnel out there I am sure which will top up your education mate. There is a plethora of knowledge out on this forum and a great bunch too - although I have only personally met a handful - the repsonse on any quiery is as rapid as your 5.56 but a little more accurate :lol: :lol:
