Take an old screw gate carabiner and push the gate out the wrong way then push it back, this keeps the gate permanently open you can close it still manually if needed but a lot more easy to drop a saw on and pull it off.... The only thing I would say about any open gate or one way biner is they are or can be a hazard to get caught in other lines especially rigging one's, I think that's were the petzel comes in it's own as it easily snaps away if some thing like a rigging line does get caught and makes it a safer product.

Saying that I still prefere my broken Biner hooks as they last,are still light weight,cheap! and I Know the risks of them near other ropes.
