Not quite, to run on red the journey has to be in the course of entrepreneurial activity of agriculture, including forestry and horticulture. So running to a building site, trade show or Highway work (snow clearing and hedge trimming excepted) is not allowed on red.

 

 

Just a question but I was under the understanding that highways tree work was also allowed to run on red.

Sorry I missed the question earlier: the regulations allow the use of an agricultural tractor for

 

(a) purposes relating to agriculture, horticulture or forestry

 

(b) cutting verges bordering public roads

 

© cutting hedges or trees bordering public roads or bordering verges which border public roads

 

I don't know what the interpretation would be if the tractor was chipping branches cut manually and then transporting the woodchip, in practice we do it.

Yeah c) was the bit someone missed out. As I'm going to be using mine for the highways contracts I have recently won.
