so what is wrong with Oregon 91VXL 044E =12" or 050E = 14" ?

Fast cutting holds its edge well easy to sharpen, what has the full chisel got to offer ? and who is the manufacturer ?

Try Oregon 21,22 BPX chain in .325 or Oregon 73,75 DP chain on 3/8 and see just how much more you can cut before sharpening on your ground saws.

A full chisel chain cuts well out of the box and is great in softwoods, it will handle hardwood but dulls off faster and requires more maintenance of the working corner.

Oregpm 21BPX is what i use on all my .325 saw fantastic stuff. I use 73LP on the bigger saws as i can't find the DP one. Any news on skip chain comming to the UK?

200t's are the easiest chains to keep maintained, short, don't often hit anything etc so the best candidate for a full chisel?

surely a full chisel chain will offer quicker cutting?

What was wrong with the old one...... come now Les, we don't get progress with that attitude

Well I've been using the chain for a while now and it is fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its a Stihl chain, comes in 25 foot reels atm, I think they must be testing the waters.

Even through it has those really annoying rakers that poke out the bar nose, it still bores well and cuts fast and aggressively.:thumbup1:

I have found its much less likely to skid along the branch and really bites in well, which is much safer when cutting and holding (I know,I know)

So all in all I'm delighted!!!!

I'll be taking my Oregon chains in and exchanging then for these!!! (guess I'll not be testing any pants!!!)

Could you find out what product the number/name is for the full chisel Stihl 3/8" Picco chain. I'd like to order some, too.

Until reading this thread, I never considered using a full chisel chain on the 200T. Partly because I never had the choice presented to me. But the more I think about it, the more it seems like the perfect match. Fast cutting. Good bite/no skidding. And the issue with sensitivity to dirt and foreign objects is virtually non-existing at 20ft+ where the 200T is being used.
