been using ex climbing rope for yrs ,never snapped 1, seem to do fine

I have tried a Gleistein climbing line, and I won't be buying one any time soon.

ive used portland braid since last august, been happy with it, nice and lightweight and works good for either natural or pulley rigging.

Actually good point, all of my rigging is natural crotch, and also a krab on a sling so yeah double braid is out I'm afraid.

 

I should have mentioned that from the start.

 

I feel like a complete idiot now.

 

Cheers for suggestions though, I will check them out.

 

I was going to get a few pulleys but I know that even if I have them i won't use them all the time and probably just end up wrecking the rope!

why can't double braid be used for natural crotch rigging?

 

Does that mean you can't use a double braid climbing line in a natural crotch?

 

Is portland braid a type of double braid?
