Thats not the case 4.30am till 10pm in summer-no way

do a poll

i guess most tree workers work about 40 hours per week averaged over the year

The jobs too hard to work longer- you're more likely to have accidents

I have found 40hrs is a standard contract, then time and a half out of hrs... we pay fixed rate job and knock on weekends... seems to work well, call out rates are fixed too. with a retainer paid per week

as a subby - anything i'm a whore for the cash, with in certain limits, you can keep up climbing long hot days all the time, i prefer to start early and finish early but when the work and wearther is good, get it in, but yeah sundays should be a day off, not for religious reasons but you dont make any friends firing a chipper up at 9am on a sunday. THe way i try and work is long hours in spring, summer autumn and then winter take it easy, it usualy quite anyway, - last winter i sat on a beach diving for 5 weeks, this winter i'm chilling with texas buddies in the states - and sure hope to god i dont get my girlfriend pregnant else i can kiss the life style good bye.

Quite often it has been inverted office hours - 5 'til 9. Other days vary from 8 'til 5 upto 14 hours per day, some weekends when at shows etc but don't really specify what hours I work. Even done a couple of 24+ hour shifts, and a couple of periods in my earlier sales days of doing 80 hours between monday morning and saturday night!

If you are self employed then stop when you have earnt enough money!
