Cheers for that Robert, Im going to look at a 125 single cab tomorrow but I feel he wants too much for it.

 

Its trade but £5500 +VAT for a 65k miler on a 52 plate.

Just read this thread Pete and was about to suggest that BMC have a 125ps orange ally bodied tipper in, but it sounds like the one you have looked at!

 

They have a brown 3 way tipper in as well at similar money, don't know what engine though.

 

I got mine there and am pleased with it, Ingram's engineers down the road did the chip box and tool box.

 

My truck is light, but we don't use it for logs, as you would soon wreck the ally floor chucking them in.

Thats the one Nige, going for a look anyway but its well pricey. He has 3 in in total, the other 2 are smaller engines.

I was discussing trucks and weights etc with someone the other day and recounted the tale of a company which had a fleet of very tidy Transit's with chip box, ladder rack and tool box but could only carry 500kgs. My colleague then told me that they had a sample truck over the weighbridge with staff, lunch, all tools and so on and it actually left 45kgs or the front axle was over loaded!

 

What a complete waste of time. Our transport laws are not really taking into account by the manufacturers it would seem.

 

Another firm I visit will regularly run 7.5tonne lorries with 2 or 3 tonne over weight!

I got the iveco 35c12 its 116ps 2.3 hpi 40kgs lighter then the 3.0 litre version when i tip off my loads seam almost twice the size of my transit crewcab loads and that had an ally tipper on it still does which weighed 2400kgs id estimate my iveco around 2.2-2.3 tonne

Looking for something like 125hp, will build my own chip box. Starting to look more like a tranny, but need to decide double cab or single and build a tool box.

 

Mind on the Transit you can get different drive ratios aswell as power outputs

(and also have the ecu remapped for more torque!)

That's all well and good - there ain't no substitute for horses.

Also, in 2012, ecu remaps will be picked up on M.O.T tests, this will be a fail.

 

A couple petrol head friends have told me this, just looking for an online source to post on here.

Seems to sumarise it pretty well, and should be able to get away with your remap if its done properly.
