You guys that shoot spot bollock on , what FFP scope do you recommend and use  ? . I am well impressed with Vector Optics stuff . Up there with the the other guys but lower on price .

Been using Hawke scopes since they started selling them, it's a UK brand and reasonable price.

Depends on what calibre and distance, but I'm old school and don't do all this parallax adjustment and just know my drops.

If you're looking at vector I'm guessing you're a turret adjustment kind of shooter over distance?.

Plus sport match mounts every day of the week!.

Yea I got Hawk on my Daystate .22 and its fantastic at 30 - 35 yards . But on my .308 I am liking the first focal plane of the Vector Optics scope . I am asking coz of Leupold and the likes . I know its a personal thing but just interested . I think Vector Optics aew very good for the price .

I don't really stretch the legs past 150/200, good enough for the girls I go out with 🙂.

I did make a point of getting the rimfire versions as the parallax is set closer than the normal 100yards so less blurry.

Think it's 60yards or something like that.

I'm borrowing a Vector red dot from a mate at the moment and am not impressed. Absolute lottery adjustments. Certainly doesn't inspire confidence in a dially scope. I buy Vortex for cheaper stuff because of the warranty. Had a dially one on my dially .22 for years now and very happy with it. Brand agnostic for higher end scopes but always start with Schmidt and rarely need to look further.

What are you wanting it for and do you have a budget?

You mentioned Leupold so I'll mention it btw. For the love of god don't buy something with a mil ret and minute knobs. Leupold persisted with this utter crassness for years. Factory-fresh scrap sold for strong mid-range money. Nightforce another fairly bad offender.

While you're here, Stubby, I don't believe you've received any recognition for your longevity recently.

As some of you may have guessed I am relatively new to full bore center fire stuff . I have been a shot gun man since the age of 14 and am close to 72 now . I can no longer lift and swing my browning Citorie O/U due to my injures . The browning has won me " mutleys " at clay shooting , served me well below the mean high water mark , Pigion shooting from a hide and game shooting ( on beaters days ) but cant do it now so I thought I would try rifles . ( bench rest / bean bag on the bonnet etc etc . ) . I have had air rifles over the years but not proper center fire guns . The Daystate Huntsman Revere  ( .22 ) has impressed me . At the indoor range I can put 11 pellets in the black ( 5p piece size ) and the grouping is so tight you can not tell how many .  (25yds) Its not my skill but the quality of the gun . I just have to hold it still ! . This has a Hawk scope . The Vector optics scope for the big gun is a 30mm tube . Its a Paragon 5-25x56 generation 2 with side focus . I looked at a cow out of my loft window that had to be 500yds away and with a twiddle of adjustment and resting the scope on the window frame ( not mounted to a gun ) the cow looked to be 40 yds away ! Anyway I appreciate all your advice on this subject . The club goes to Bisley once a month and maybe I can try it there . Regards clicks on turrets with my .22 I don't alter the zero once set , just hold over ( or under ) as it needs .
