Hi guys,

New to the forum so just a quick hello from me Ed (will post in new members forum in a bit)

As for pricing I charge £495 for 2 men (climber and grounds person with cs 38)

Unimog with 9 inch chipper and normal gear. I have only lost one quote this year (out of 36) but if its a commercail it goes up a tad to £545. I always give a writtern quote as I think it sepertes you from looking like a cowboy! when I call the customer 3 days after sending quote and they say that its to much and found some one to do it for £250 I ask them if the other guy is insured etc.. and most of the time they call back and ask me to carry out the work. I also carry a folder in the truck with a copy of out tickets and insurance and show them when I do the quote. I hope this helps a bit

Ed

Sometimes you can loose a job because you are too cheap.

Thats a vary rare occurrence imo.............and carrying around tickets and insurance documents means naff all around here, price does and always will win in the private market, commercial work is different due to H&S.........

Gotta say you are most definitely doing it right.:thumbup1:

Anyone that gets, never mind wins 35 jobs in January must know how its done.

Sounds like your running a very good business, especially with the turnover you get on the other thread.

Hi

Yer that price is plus Vat. and TBH the kind of cutomers that I target are not that fussed about paying Vat. I insure when I quote that I turn up looking smart with a clean truck dont baffle them with to much info simple stupid :001_smile: but dont talk down to them. (Sorry if i am telling you how to suck eggs)

I really do think I have been very lucky this year and how long it lasts I dont know.

Welcome Eddie, sounds spot on to me mate.

Update, one job I lost out by £50 on, I am going to call in and ask if he would like me to finish off cutting the hedge because whoever did it couldn't reach the last foot at the top!:sneaky2:

£2k's worth accepted today!
