the thing is ive been gaurneteed work with 3 arb approved companies and everybody else says oh yeah we will deffinatly use you soon.....................................................................................................................still waiting!!!!

i dont want to float my own boat but its not like im a ruff crap climber, i would consider myself a good all round climber.

It also seems that companies are sooner paying young under experienced climber rather than experienced ones just to save 20-40 quid!!!!!!!!!!!!

With the long forcast of another miserable wet summer things are looking bleak:sad:

Its a sign of the downturn of the economy, tree work will be one of the 1st trades to suffer, as is the building trade. Domestic work is a luxury, people still want the nice cars and their holidays, the trees will wait a year or so. Doubt its got anything to do with your quality of work, more the lack of funds.

Sorry but i've just done exactly that, i've quoted for a job that will take five days, i need some exra men and guy has rung me who is an experienced climber with his own groundie. they want 200 per day for both of them. No one can argue with that but i can get a couple of snon climbing colledge grads who may be a bit slower for 70 per day. the 60 per day saving over 5 days is well worth having. and so whilst id love to have top quality guys i can do all the climbing myself and save £300.
