I'm not sure the OAP visiting his wife each day, driving to the hospital or the father of 4 working 3 jobs on minimum wage and driving to them all, would agree with you

 

Or the likes of me, with a disco 3 at 22.5MPG

make it a £5 a litre, it'll get the peasants off the road, readily available cheap oil got them on the road in the firstplace

On average I get through about two and a half tanks of fuel a week.... if the fuel goes up much more I am going to be crippled.

 

We use mainly diesel for all our equipment, and all my guys tend to have diesel vehicles also.

 

LPG is looking very attractive right now!

then the roads will be quiet enough for the rest to cruise around at the optimum speed for fuel economy, unlike the journey back from a job 15miles away a few weeks ago using only low range 1st&2nd because of queues:thumbdown: stop/start driving all the way with a full load and loaded trailer:thumbdown:
