Just a quick rant.

Why have they decided to do the increase from midnight and not 6am, it's not to bad for me as we run everything from here. But it means we need to stay up to do the change and test it. Did they not think about how much it is already going to cost the small/medium size business in changing everything, now we have to pay someone to be on standby at midnight. How many thousands of internet companies are felling the same and going to be tired and pissed off tomorrow.

And what about all the clubs and bars that will be open is everything going to go up at midnight, will there be a rush to the bar, pissed people arguing over the price.

6am most places are closed and will have time to change and sort any problems. I know what ever time they chose won't be great for everyone, but a little thinking beforehand would have been nice.

Rant over.

Get your orders in before I push the button at midnight.:001_smile:

or.......

its an increase to compensate for the reduction that labour never should have introduced in the first place

being vat registered is a pain in the arse and yes the 2.5% increase is only going to give 95% of my competitors a 20% lead as oppsed to 17.5% that they now have . i guess that the VAT allowance has not been incresed by 2.5% tho !!!!

and i dont envy you justin

if its the only way to bring this country back into the black then go for it. Labour always bankrupt the country spending money that wasnt there. the Comservatives love em or hate them pick up the pieces and get the country back on its feet are hated for it. if Labour, who got us into this mess helped instead of gripeing all the time then we might, just might get things sorted quicker.

My dad was moaning about the vat rise today.

To be honest I'm not bothered, it only £25 extra on a purchase of a grand and if your spending that you can barter a bit if your bothered about it.

I also think everyone should be vat registered

VAT is an issue that gets right on my nerves..

Why the hell should we have to pay for a bunch of guys that used our own money to screw us over so badly that the whole country effectively collapsed at a time when because of this unemployment is at a high and money is hard to come by.

The money they gave the banks to get them back on track was invested by the banks into the very markets and funds that went tits up in the first place!!

There is a documentary available on-line which was aired on British television a few months back called 'How The Banks Won'

The dispatches programme revealed so much information which was damaging it was not allowed to be aired again and it has since been removed from 4OD.

It is available on YouTube:

Everyone should watch it in my opinion! Very enlightening.
