I recently bought some Sealskinz waterproof ultra grip gloves for working in cold/snowy/wet conditions.

Whilst the gloves keep your hands nice and warm and dry:thumbup1:, I did not think they were particularly grippy on the rope.

Has anyone else found this?

A mate had a job lot of Sperian perfect poly (gloves NOT tights!!), and whilst they are not waterproof, they are extremely grippy, snug fitting and keep your hands warm. As a bonus you can get them from Ebay for about £1 a pair:thumbup1:

Anyone tried them?

I poppedinto arvo this morning to check out the glove selections. Picked up a pair of Showa therm gloves. Just over 3 quid a pair.

They are good gloves in minus conditions!

I've used those Showa thermals. Great gloves. I'm using towa powergrab thermo ATM. Good but when It gets wet they lose grip as the tread is quite fine so water fills it easily. Would prefer the showas for my next pair definitely.

have got lots of showa ones, tommers seen em,, the yellow ones are great in the cold,, grip well but you dont have too much feeling,, the blue ones are great unless it;s really cold, but the grip on both is fantastic,,

I can vouch for the above pair ^

I bought them from clarkes last winter and they were very warm and grippy on the rope. Now not so water proof after a year and demoted to cold yard duties

For me, just standard builders gloves when dry. When wet, i have found the husky chainsaw gloves to be very grippy - despite having a drenched, sludgy rope.
