The reason for my last post on this was not a criticism of your work, but I'd hate to see someone pop in their local ironmongers, buy some totally inadequate screw eyes, and have an accident trying to emulate what you have done here. I have no doubts to your skill, this is evident in all your vids. Thanks for a geat vid again.

I know that Andy, it was a good point.

Matty the bolt part didn't take long, but knocking the bark off with that little hammer seemed to.The sawing was probably the most awkward because I couldn't get through it with that bar and it was difficult to manoeuvre round to the other side.

Reg, a very good video! I think if you comentated and explained your methods as you go along your videos could become an excellent training vid!

Never thought of using ancor bolts :001_cool:

Well done.

When studying for my certificate i came across a book called "The fundamentals of modern arboriculture" by G F Beranek. There's a photo of a guy lowering a big lump of wood with a massive Eye bolt in the top of it! Good read - lots of photos of big tree felling in America!

That's the author of the book and the pic is in chapter 2, page 13.

What size bar were you using on the 088?

That was a 36in and not even long enough to make the ripping cuts to the side of each ring. My own fault, I was offered a longer one but declined.
