Buisiness as usual

Sorry to hear about your back. I have had 3 ops in the past (95 – 2000) involving 7 discectomies and 4 laminectomies so I know what you will be going through.

Do what you are told and don’t push yourself. As far as physiotherapy and medication go everyone is different.

After my third operation (by one of the top specialists) I was banned from physiotherapy apart from swimming – and it worked.

When you come round from the operation I don’t think you will be too concerned about going to the toilet! Take it easy on the meds, especially as you start to feel better – the worst thing you could do is try and do something you shouldn’t without realising.

Hope all goes well

Richard

Ps pic of 3rd opp after staples had been removed – something to look forward to (not!)

the painkillers i have are Tramadol 50mg/500

Ian

be careful with the tramadol.... my brother is in a real mess after becoming addicted to these following a prescription for a back injury.... he realised what was happening and tried to wean himself off them, but all is not going well.... little support from the doc as "they are not addictive", following a change of doc, he is now back on course!

Jonesie, all the best with the op and recovery, do as they tell you and dont rush it!

Kev.
