Freelanders are naff off road. They can barely pull them selves along never mind towing a couple of ton behind. The TD4 sounds like a bag of nails between 1k n 2k on the revs.

 

On their own, even in deep sticky clay, I have too admit that they are surprisingly good off road.

 

The one I am using only has silly road tyres on it, because that is all that fit the rims :thumbdown:. However, the traction control trickery really does the trick. Of course, the ground clearance is pants...

HI apbell we had a new reg 10 one from taunton land rover mate what a joke :lol:it has no power to pull its self along let alone trailer with 2 tons on its a series 3:thumbdown: land land get a 110 200 tdi // 300 tdi // td5 remap 200 hp:thumbup: plus just the job it pulls 3.5 tons well jon in very cold somerset :thumbup:

My brother has a new shape TD4 and loves it, mide you he's an office boy. its good on road but it now needs a new clutch and mybe a duel mass flywheel at an incredible 36K miles!!!

 

 

Get a Disco, mind you my farmer mate has a disco 3 and has nowt but trouble with it.

 

300 tdi were best.
