Hi J.D,

i live in a caravan now, it is 12ft x 34ish. been in it for couple years. its not a bad way to live is saving me money, until we can get a deposit.Ours has shower, 3 'bed rooms', kitchen etc.

I have spent the last 3hours under the thing defrosting water pipes though!

We have got a woodburner, the first winter without it was hellish cold, now it's toastie, the only thing is the heat will escape quickly, we have found thick curtains help a lot.

dont be tempted to cover the air holes, the condensation can be bad.

When buying one get under it and check the metal work, oil it up if you can.

Good luck!

Now that spring is getting nearer I'm gonna be looking to get a caravan sorted, hopefully in the next week or 2 and I wondered if anybody has any experience of Tabberts ?

Are they similar to Hobby's as I was recommended earlier in the thread, for insulation quality and also build ?

Oh, and what height is a van, external measurements please, rough estimates will do thanks men.

I lived in caravans for over ten years before buying my bungalow a few years ago. I had three hobbys in that time all bought new and swapped in every three years, they are a good trailer, but if i was to buy another i would go for a Tabbert, they are built better than the hobby(and are alot more expensive new) as for height about 7 foot 6

Hmmm, caravan, house, caravan, can't quite make my mind up.......was you lot born yesterday, why would anyone want to live in a bloody caravan ?

Don't knock it until you've tried it. I've spent my entire adult life in mobile homes, and now raise a family in one, although it's got a few add-ons now:blushing:
