  1. We have had a few, get one with a honda engine anything else is a waste of time. We have a kranzle electric at the mo, if you got power go electirc no faffing about. Just my view form using em. Cheers Ben
  2. Sorry to hear that, i dont live to far away. weve had two transits pull up in the farm recently, first time they got arsey with father because he asked what did they want,THEY told him to take a bloody photo for crime stoppers! I would have on the phone. Second time drove in, different transit, tipper with Landscsaping on the front asking for batterys, one of em talked the other just looked round the place! dad told em to f-off, young lad and chap bout mid 50s. Cant trust no one.
  3. Hi all, Sometime recently I’m sure there was a thread on here regarding Hardwood cord coming out of Cornwall. Does anyone remember anything about it had any delivered in the last couple weeks? It was supposed to be seasoned just wondering if it was any good. Cheers.
  4. Hello. In a former life i used to manage a nursery, we used loads of these trolleys you can get 'off road' kits for them. the proper cross beams are much more heavy duty than those in the pic. Would be good for delivering kindling/log sacks etc, could be bloomin useful! oh they are know as Danish Trolleys.
  5. Blimey! I couldnt do that if i kept at it for years, very good indeed. love the books.
  6. Yeah i put a bit aside each month to ease winter, i have gone it to logs to help. As for leaf blower, one of the first things i bought. I did get lucky though, i was on eBay it said it would'nt run smoothly or trun off, i done the spark plug up and connected the switch wire back, its never missed a beat since Some you win!
  7. This is my main income, i started doing general gardening it was ok, but i found it boring going to the same places every week for a couple of hours, people end up finding things for you to do to fill time, sweeping the same drive etc every week can be tedious. So slowly picked up more grass cutting jobs, i price each lawn at a fixed price, you may lose time in the spring when the grass well away, but you soon gain it back during the summer months. If you get 3-5 houses close together so you dont have to load everything up before moving, your in the money. One place i charge £15 a lawn do 4 in just over an hour not bad money wise, but if im gunna get a "can you just while your here" its here:001_rolleyes: So flyer whole rows of houses etc, I put on the flyer great discounts for groups of houses/neigbours. I strim them all then mow them all, job done. Hedge cutting to be fair is not my fave, but you pick the work up via the lawns, do them before you cut the lawn, if you can then use the mower to pick up the small leaves/cuttings always tidys the area up well. Remember thou No work during the winter, so i have kept on some general jobs which helps!
  8. They will sell it, folk will buy anything from these places, just cus they think big brand must be cheap/good deal.
  9. Ive thought about this before, one of the best cheap ways is an old bale elevator, at farm sale they go for as little as £50. Not many farms use the small bales now so they are not needed. Farm sales e-Bay keep an eye out. Only drawback they run off electric usally, so not good for isolated sites.
  10. Hi folks, Signed up to the firewood directory last week, any idea how long it takes for the ad to go live? i cant find it on there, could be me Cheers Ben
  11. Hi J.D, i live in a caravan now, it is 12ft x 34ish. been in it for couple years. its not a bad way to live is saving me money, until we can get a deposit.Ours has shower, 3 'bed rooms', kitchen etc. I have spent the last 3hours under the thing defrosting water pipes though! We have got a woodburner, the first winter without it was hellish cold, now it's toastie, the only thing is the heat will escape quickly, we have found thick curtains help a lot. dont be tempted to cover the air holes, the condensation can be bad. When buying one get under it and check the metal work, oil it up if you can. Good luck!
  12. Hello folks, Been looking on the site for some time now, really good stuff very interesting. I run a small Landscaping/Gardening business in North Devon, over the last couple years we have been asked loads of times if we supply logs, which we don't. Now i have rung 5 or so local suppliers to see if they will help out our customers, but they all have said sold out or quit. Now this has got me thinking may be we can fill the gap, winter can be a long time! If any can help with contacts for a bulk load of wood or contacts i would be very grateful or if you are local tree surgeon who wants some where to tip, i would be able to help. we have two yards one is artic friendly. Pm me if you can help. Cheers Ben.
