i dunno what causes it i guess its in the soil as ive felled 3 trees close to the proximity of that one and cleared up a few fallen ones the limb you can see had died naturally but id taken off an another large limb about 7 years ago that had died,this has been dead for 2 years though,another pick of andy.

I think with the wetter climate we get the more phytophera will spread, iirc it's spread through the soil helped by standing water etc.

agree...all the trees have a river under them so water must be playing a part in contracting it.
