After toiling at work all week the Mother in Law asked or should i say "insisted nicely!" if i would come round and prune their tree at the weekend.

No rest for the wicked is there!!!!!!!

A lot of folks would love for me to do that to their trees here in the states. If I did the ISA would take away my decoder ring. Tree work is very different between the States and GB.

I cant wrap my head around that.....

 

here in the states any reputable arb would be called a hack for doing that to a tree. No offense intended, but i just cant figure out why its an accepted practice there. That is clearly a topped tree.

 

Is there any reason the tree couldnt be left in its original(natural) form?

 

and if not, wouldnt planting a more appropriate tree be a better approach?

 

Correct me if im wrong but if that tree is left untouched for another 10 years, wouldnt it be as big or bigger than originally?, and wont it be loaded with epicomic at the heading cuts?, and wont the heading cuts be loaded with decay?

 

Im sorry, but that is a topped tree. And Im shocked at all the attaboys given for it.

 

Again, I mean no offense, Im just trying to see what you all see.
