Poor old lime tree shame i dont have any pics of it standing

 

Myself and Oil Wilson of here took it down, If i new it was that hollow i would of MEWP it.

But it was That hollow and you climbed it?

 

So now you know it was safe enough to climb why would you have used a MEWP?

The base of the cavity was opening and closing at the top of the tree was moved a lot more then it should.

Cavity opening?? Are you talking about the hole at the base? Just in your second picture theres no sign of a compound fracture in the wood?

 

P.S limes do move a lot but its when theres no flex they go snap, my 40ft elm collapse taught me that one.
