Good splitting axe

Yeah, had a bit more of a look at it and reckon it's worth spending the money on. I was thinking I might get the splitting axe rather than the splitting maul but then I think I might as well just spend a bit more and get the maul and be done with it. I wouldn't want to get the axe and then wish I'd got the maul.

Depends what you're splitting mate.

The maul will dominate anything, and tree surgery scrap tends to be pretty tourgh going. On the downside, you waste energy lifting that head if you are splitting easy stuff. I can use the splitting axe with one hand if needed.

The maul also works to hammer in wedges whilst the axe doesn't.

In short, if you are only buying one, go for the maul.

My view is one load of logs will pay for both, then I'm sorted for 20 years!

Either one, you won't be disappointed.

GeT a gransfors, the maul is incredible, I'll be buying another couple of there axes soon, got to really where I live :lol:

Another vote for the Gransfors maul fantstic bit of kit. I also have their wildlife hatchet and a scandanavian forest axe will be joining them soon. Be a pitty to replace my Baco forest axe but its seen better days.
