Sounds like a few of you have seen arbs pruning trees from a bus.

Unfortunately the bus I saw used in-house guys from the bus company, they weren't arbs at all.

I think all the work was done with bowsaws - which I'm thankful for. I dread to think what a mess they would have made if they'd got their hands on chainsaws.

Terry Pope in the Swindon area used to have a contract for that and I believed that the bus was supplied for the job!

Never seen it round here, can see the benefits - canteen downstairs, roofed area to shelter from the rain, you could maybe get a couple of fares on the way to the job too!

We used a genie which works just as well but requires traffic management - are you sure they dont need TM Rupe? surely they stop at very tree?

There is one on fleabay if anyone is thinking of having a go...

MCW METROBUS OPEN TOP DOUBLE DECKER on eBay (end time 23-Oct-10 16:36:09 BST)

I seen one once when I was down in the south of England, last year I think it was. Must've been Sussex or somehwere Brighton direction.

Was a bright yellow open top double decker with all this warning tree cutting sign writing. I think it was a council not a contractor

Council use them near us. The whole point of it is to trim back trees that would get hit by a bus on the route. Bloomin good idea really.
