orrrr if you can get a really good nick old 044 or the later MS440 that would be good, they are great saws to! i dunno if i would trust one of the new MS441's to many fancy gadgets to go wrong imo

funny i was in honey brothers thinking of buying a ms 441 as i want another mod range saw they are auto tuning. I have a 044 and a 046 both good saws.

I also had a 372xp good saw but i think the 046 is a better saw.:001_rolleyes:

Now that Stihl and Husqvarna are going so hi tec, and there is bound to be some teething problems, and the possibility of some unforseen long term problems. I am seriously considering the Jonsered 2165, as it is using proven low tec technology.

A number of years ago i would have laughed at the above comment

I used to be a die-hard Stihl supporter. I have an MS361 running an 18" bar and and a 460 with a 20", both cracking saws, although vastly differing power and weight. Recently I was persuaded to have a Husky 372 XP with an 18" bar.......... what a saw!!! Very manouverable, loads of power and I believe a faster-rotating chain.

IMO 372XP would be an ideal replacement for your 361, unless you have a desire for the 'big-saw-back-ache' that comes from running a 46!

Hope this helps.
