On another note. Have you ever tried choking a stem with a climbing strop and putting your foot through it?

 

Just thought I'd put that out there.

 

Thats the technique the japanese have been using since the Edo-period, it works for them.... but hey ho just make ugly marks allover the stem its highly proffessional!!!
