whats wrong with alloy wedges? There blinking great:001_tt2:.

as for the score, the trees came down where i wanted em with no problems.

 

I too would like to know what's wrong with alloy wedges?

I'll give myself 6.5 out of 10, rakers were REALLY low and the saw was aggressive as..........., excuses, excuses haha

Why has the stump in the top pic got what looks like an extra cut a bit lower down?:001_smile:

 

You do a series of cuts. So in that you put the head on one side sort of just off the felling direction and cut in a 1/3 then feed up about an inch or so and do the same. Do the same on the other side.

 

As you do the felling cut the undercuts in the direction of felling sort of compress and break in a stepcut sort of fashion. You can have them for not just direction but for making sure the guide bar nose going the way across and the saw moter get everything too.

I swear that I sometimes see what I want to see - this is an ancient thread, but I still read it on this occasion as 'Rate my minge' on the new posts list!
