Winching in some leaning roadside trees the other day, I held the tree on the winch while one of the lads cut the gob and back cut. Barkers egg laid at nine o`clock , light wind ,slight drizzle, near knocking off time and totty walking dogs nearby. Whats it worth out of ten ?

The final edge of your gob isn't completely straight and you have left a bit too much meat on the hinge.... this has led to over reliance upon winch power.... lazy!!

And I say "pink spots on trees is soooo 80's".

Therefore it's a 5 out of ten from me.

cheers, steve

p.s.... just noticed a wobble at the start of the back cut too, something must have distracted you. Were you actually looking at the tree ?? So I need to deduct another point for that.... 4 out of ten!

I'm all for a meaty hinge in those circumstances. Stump too high for my liking tho.
