Ok felled my first proper tree today. Up till now it's been stumps and garden sized tree. Not as easy as it appears. About 30 degrees to the right of my target. But it was a safe area where ever it fell so was a good practice. You honest opinions gentlemen?

 

You don't actually have a hinge at all there, it looks to be pretty much just a step cut, you're lucky it went any where near where you wanted. It could have gone where ever it wanted :001_huh:

 

Did you even cut a gob?

I think the hinge is the bit of bark still attached.

I give this a score of 0.5. :laugh1:

Oh you are the Craig of the panel I see :biggrin:

 

Yep I can see a gob has been cut but but the bottom cut of the hinge has gone in further than the face cut so it's turned into step cut. The Ralphy left over suggest it may of started out as the Danish pie cut but the tree had decided it had had enough by then and went over anyway :001_smile:
